Scratchpad survey
In an effort to understand how Scratchpads are a novel approach to sharing scientific information a sociological survey of the Scratchpad user community was conducted. The goal was to understand the motivations and benefits perceived by users when adopting the Scratchpad system, and to identify the barriers (both social and technical) that may hinder wider uptake. The survey had the format of a semi structured interview with closed-ended and open-ended questions. A summary of the outcomes was presented during the EDIT General Meeting with the title "Why people engage".
