ALTER-Net is a sister network of EDIT, focussing on creating and developing LTER (Long-Term Ecological Research) sites in Europe.

The 5th ALTER-Net Summer School is entitled 'Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services'. The summer school will be held at Peyresq, Alpes de Haute-Provence, France. To find out more, visit their website.

The course aims to give students a solid background in the systematics, taxonomy and morphology of
selected invertebrate taxa. The course will be given in conjunction with a workshop gathering an
international group of 20 well renowned systematists/taxonomists covering Porifera, Cnidaria,
Crustacea, Bryozoa, Nemertea, Annelida, Mollusca, Echinodermata, and Tunicata. The course will
provide an excellent learning environment and discussion forum for advanced students of marine
invertebrate taxonomy and systematics.
